About
Hey creative types!
If you want to know more about this blog, check out my information section.
A little intro about myself. I’m a stay-at-home mom who has two step children, no biological children. I have a degree in Graphic Design, but to be truthful, should have continued on a Fine Art career path with a teaching degree. I would like best to teach a college level art class and wish I’d gotten a teaching certificate. Who knows, maybe someday I’ll go back to school and nab that.
That doesn’t mean that I don’t constantly do art in my spare time however. It sort of all started when I moved with my husband from Texas to North Carolina. After being here for close to a year, I was rather depressed about never getting out of the house, and not having any friends here, etc. So I did some searching on meetup.com and found myself a scrapbooking and paper crafting group. At the time, I wasn’t really into scrapbooking, but I was making artist trading cards, so I joined the group and gave it a shot. Needless to say that I fell in love with the group and actually got interested in scrapbooking. While working with the ladies in the scrapbooking group I discovered so many new tools that work great with art projects other than scrapbooking. I’ve started using a bunch of typically scrapbooking techniques into my altered art projects. Check out the “What’s altered art anyway?” link for more specific information on altered art.
I’ve really developed a specific love of altered art of all types and started this blog to be a little more productive with my creativity and search for new information. I figured, if I searched the net and didn’t really find what I was looking for in the area of altered art, surely others wanted this information as well.
So there you have it, the reason I have started this blog. To share my ideas and encourage others to do the same, not only with ideas and themes and such, but sources for supplies, savings and anything else I can think of on the topic.
Thanks for reading and have fun creating!
