Altered Books Day 1
Happy post July 4th readers!
I have started about 4 altered books so far. The ones I have started are all religiously related due to need for creating them. I did my first altered book to hold the notes from the Sunday sermons inserts from the bulletin. Then I decided I would like a book to take notes for my Sunday school class in. My husband and I also attend a family night dinner and prayer time on wednesday nights and I needed a good place to keep prayer requests. I felt it was a good idea to form a more permanent place for these requests, than just on a notepad, which is more likely than anything to get misplaced by accident. I also decided, if I was going to have a notebook for my Sunday school lessons, I should have one for the personal bible studies that I am working on that I bought at Family Christian Stores. However, I don’t plan on only doing religious altered books. I’ve come up with a number of other ideas that I’ll start to work on when some of these other projects are completed. One is a Travel Trinkets, or Travel Treasures book where I can keep all those little 3 dimensional trinkets that you get while on vacation that don’t fit so well into a scrapbook, but that you can’t bear to throw out, since they bring back a special memory of your trip. So this is what I’m currently working on, and as I work, ideas for more are constantly coming into my mind. Here are some of the books I’m currently working on, some are more finished than others, but most need quite a bit more work.
Got to go get to “work”
